APSE – the Association for Public Service Excellence is a not for profit local government body working with Councils throughout Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. A key objective is to promote excellence in public services. APSE brings Councils together to share information and best practice. Its team of advisors provide specialist briefings, training and events.
APSE is the foremost specialist in local authority front line services, hosting a network for front line service providers in areas such as waste and refuse collection, parks and environmental services, leisure, school meals, cleaning, housing and building maintenance.
APSE is owned by its members and provides services on their behalf. It is the largest voluntary local government benchmarking service nationally. It conducts research and campaigns for a positive role for local government in delivering high quality, effective and efficient local government services.
All Elected Members of Derry City and Strabane District Council are members on APSE.
