Councillors Donnelly and Tierney stated that they had been contacted by residents from the William Street area of the city who had informed them that the gates to the carpark were still not being locked each evening as agreed due to an issue with the contractor. They urged that the matter be urgently addressed.
In response, the Director of Business and Culture stated that a meeting had taken place with the contractor to ensure that they were meeting their obligations that William Street car park would be locked every evening. He stated that if this was not the case, protocols were now in place to ensure the gates would be locked. He stated that the gates were put in place to prevent any further anti-social behaviour and that any further issues with the contractor would be dealt with.
