Notices of Motion

(a)       Councillor Donnelly to Move:-

British Secretary of State, Teresa Villers in conjunction with unaccountable intelligence agencies has ordered the incarceration of Derry Republican Tony Taylor without charge or trial.  This Council calls for Tony’s immediate release.

(b)       Councillor Gallagher to Move:-

            In this year of the 100th Anniversary of the 1916 Rising in Ireland, I call on Council to grant permission to any staff member who may wish to mark the occasion by wearing an Easter Lily in the workplace over the Easter period.

(c)       Councillor Gardiner to Move:-

            This Council supports the development of the city and region as a Learning Region; recognises that the expansion of Magee is an essential element of achieving this status, fully supports the work of U4D, Derry City and Strabane District Council and Ulster University in the development of the business case; calls on all parties involved to ensure that the business case is agreed in time to be included in the next Programme of Government;

            Furthermore, Council calls on all Executive/Assembly Parties to ensure the expansion of Magee is included in the next Programme of Government and calls on University of Ulster to give consideration to the Ebrington site as a location for future development of the Magee campus.
