Notices of Motion

(a)       Councillor Gallagher to Move

Strabane and Derry Areas require full and proper resourcing.  We         need genuine infrastructure, educational and skills development as       well as jobs provision to address the abhorrent socio-economic          inequalities,             which have been roundly ignored for decades.

Therefore I call on this Council to demand that the Assembly                 allocate all the necessary resources from its surplus (250 Million    Pounds) to address the inequalities that exist here.  It is time for Stormont to face their responsibilities to the Northwest and also          alleviate the negative impact on those most dependent on welfare.

(b)       Councillor Donnelly to Move

This Council calls on the Northern Ireland Prison Service to take           action and ensure that republican prisoner Gavin Coyle who has      been held in isolation for the last 4 years in Maghaberry Prison is        immediately transferred to the separation area in Roe House
