Go n-aithníonn an Chomhairle seo nach bhfuil a leithéid de rud ann agus Breatimeacht maith.

Ach aithníonn sí an obair atá déanta le déanamh cinnte gur sheas an EU 27 go láidir ina gcaibidlí maidir leis an aontú aistarraingthe.

Fáiltíonn an Chomhairle seo roimh chosc ar mholadh ar bith go mbeadh teorainn chrua ar oileán na hÉireann,

Councillor Reilly to Move:

This Council acknowledges the work of the North West Migrants Forum who deal with people from minority ethnic communities.

This Council recognises that in May 2018 the British and Irish governments signed a memorandum on the Common Travel Area committing both parties ‘to ensuring that any necessary steps are taken to give effect to the associated reciprocal rights and privileges.’

This Council recognises that there are challenges facing non-EU nationals living on these islands and resolves to write to both the Taoiseach and the Prime Minister urging agreement to include those non-EU citizens - who have a right of permanent residence in one jurisdiction - to have rights and privileges in the other via the Common Travel Area.
